What is Help Heat Chicago?

Help Heat Chicago was started in 2022 by Colton OBrien with the mission of heating the hands of the homeless in the winter. Every winter, Colton visits community neighborhoods (Albany Park, North Center, Ravenswood, Roscoe Village, etc) to sell hand warmers to pedestrians passing by. For each pair purchased for $0.74, Colton donates a set of handwarmers to someone in need. Colton partnered with Common Pantry to ensure that these hand warmers are distributed properly to those who need them most. Each hand warmer provides 8 hours of heat and that can really make a difference to someone who is freezing this winter.
